Summary: "What can you want with me?"

"I don't know what lying conversations your henchmen have overheard," she whispered, clinging to the bars of the cage. Here, wrapped in iron, she felt so vulnerable. "But none of it is true. I neither am a werewolf, nor have any desire to be!"

The sorcerer chuckled, reaching through the bars to caress his captive's face. "Let me shatter your illusions, and bring you to reality: This is no matter of mistaken identity," he responded.

"Then why have I been brought here," she dared to wonder. "What can you want with me?"

"I merely wish to experiment," was the troubling reply. "To see whether I can take an ordinary human, and turn them into a werewolf. But," he added, seeing her recoil, "as you have already expressed your unwillingness, I suppose that this was not meant to be." The sorcerer grinned widely at the faint gleam of hope his victim's eyes now held. "I shall simply have to find some other subject to experiment on...and keep you here for them to feed on, when their transformation is complete."

Strange, how ephemeral hope could be.
