It'd been stifling.

He’d been bound in a futile attempt to capture divinity, and, like a lion born into captivity and kept in a too-small cage, he longed for a freedom he had never known. When he finally escaped, not only did he bite the hand that fed him, he rained down divine punishment upon every single one of them.

They had tried to cage a lion, tried to tame a god, but he was neither.

He was just a boy.
