#043: Jeeves & Wooster: Gen

Title: Alacrity
Fandom: Jeeves & Wooster
Rating: Gen
Length: 200
Summary: Bertie is more than happy to take his guests to the train station.

“…with alacrity, Madame,” I overheard Jeeves say and wasn’t altogether certain what he meant, but he soon shimmied into the sitting room and parted the clouds.

“That was Mrs. Summerton, sir.”

“Yes?”

“Her automobile is suffering from sudden and unexpected mechanical failure.”

“Oh, and ?!”

“At first, she lamented that she and Miss Daffodil would be unable to return to Devon today, but I took the liberty of offering your car as means of transport to the station so that they might arrive in time for their train. I understand Mister Summerton will be seeing to the repairs of the car in town and following when his business matters conclude.”

“By all means, Jeeves!” I let my voice fall to sotto voce. “Young Daffy has overstayed her welcome and spent far too much time at The British Museum. I mean, we all went through a phase of fascination with the ancient civilizations of the Nile, but…”

“…and now,” rang out a high voice from down the hall, “the next step of mummification…removal of
the vital organs…the brain…through the nose…”

“Get me out of these bandages, Jeeves, before the Wooster insides are in canisters and I’m eye-to-eye with that chap Anubis!”

Alacrity is exactly what one needs when getting rid of unwanted guests!

Oh, dear me! Bertie needs some rescuing! ^.^

And my phase of Egypt-fascination has yet to fade, lol! ;D I wouldn't exactly go as far as Daffy seems inclined to, however; I settled for being Cleopatra for Halloween when I was eleven.
