"I don't get it," Piper fumed, blowing at her bangs.

Prue watched her sister through careful eyes. As the older sister, she had always been the leader, but from a very early age, she had recognized that Piper was the smartest of all three of them. She had understood things at a very early age that Prue and Phoebe had had issues with for, at times, it seemed like forever, not falling sway to peer pressure and keeping herself dedicated to her causes. She frowned, knowing that her sister was hurting even as she watched Piper arrange the donations for the third time that morning. "Piper, honey," she spoke gently, reaching out and catching her hand, "they're not going anywhere. What's this really all about?"

"Phoebe! How can she just -- " Piper sputtered, "and with such alacrity too?!"

"How can she what?" Prue asked slowly.

"How can she just act like we've been Witches all our lives and it's nothing to be ashamed about!"

"Well," Prue said as gently as she could, "because it isn't."

"But -- Thou shall not suffer a Witch to live and all that! Grams raised us in church for a reason, Prue! We weren't taught to believe in multiple Gods or -- or whatever it is that we're supposed to be believing in as Witches!"

"One, if you look up the original verse, the proper translation is not Witch but one who poisons."

"Really?" Piper asked. She had taken her hand away from Prue's grasp and continued to fuss over the items she'd gathered from their street for the neighborhood.

"Yes. Piper, just because we're Witches doesn't mean we're evil."

"Well, I know that, Prue! Duh! I mean, we are tasked with saving the world after all! It wouldn't make sense for evil doers to be saving the world! But..." Her face fell again as she asked very softly, "Why do we have to be Witches in order to save the world?"

Prue shrugged. "I don't know, but I do know that just because we're Witches doesn't mean our beliefs have to change. Piper, you're the best person I know! You've always been the best person I know!"

"No, I'm not." Her little sister defiantly shook her head. "Grams was the best!"

"Piper -- " Prue struggled to find the right words, as she so often had when consoling her little sister. Piper was the last of them to jump to anger, or to defeat, and the first always to help someone. "We could spend our entire lives trying to measure up to Grams and still fall short, but there was a reason she chose to raise us as Christian, just like there was a reason why she hid our lineage from us. Religion doesn't make you good or evil. Being a Witch doesn't make you good or evil. Your heart makes you who you are, and determines rather you're evil or not. And I don't know of anyone better than you," she finished, reaching over and hugging her hard.
