“Here,” said Laura Hobson, pointing to marks on the body. “Excoriation.”

“Glad I’ve not had my breakfast yet,” mumbled Lewis, but his gaze was keen and professional.

“Consistent with friction caused by contact with something like a country road.” She turned her eyes toward the rural thoroughfare behind them. “Ligature marks suggest he was tied and pulled.”

“Yeah?” replied Lewis. “We’d better tell the SOCOs to go over that area,” he indicated with a wave, “inch by inch looking for rocks to confirm it.”

“What a drag!” quipped Hathaway drolly.

Hobson and Lewis looked at him and rolled their eyes.

I enjoy a good detective story (although I haven't seen Lewis). Fitting use of the prompt. Now I wonder who was murdered and who did it... PS: I like your icon. No idea what it means, but I like it.
