Title: 'The Effort'
Fandom: Friends
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Rating: G
Word Count: 142
Characters/Pairings: Monica Geller
Warnings: None
Summary: It's no simple task to keep everyone happy.
There's a certain degree of pressure in being the one of her circle on whom everyone seems to rely for a decent meal. As though being a chef as her career choice wasn't enough, cooking for people for pay day after day, Monica's little group always appears incapable of cooking for themselves. She knows that's not the case, apart from the sole and bumbling exception of Rachel; the others are capable enough, in their own ways.
But, somehow, she's frequently stuck feeding all of them. It's no simple task to keep everyone happy. Particularly when the strictly meat and potatoes Joey and the vegetarian Phoebe butt heads over the menu.
In the end, though, after the meal's been prepared, and the six of them are sitting together, laughing and chatting away, the setting cozily convivial, Monica knows that the effort's always worthwhile.
