“What?!” asked Yoongi. He removed an airpod from one ear and leaned closer to his companion.
They were side-by-side on beach chairs beneath umbrellas. Yoongi had been listening to music and pretending to nap. Seokjin was reading on a tablet. In truth, both were giving most of their attention to ogling Namjoon, who was splashing about in the waves.
“You sound like a deaf Grandpa,” teased Seokjin. “Shall I speak up? Or shall I nag you about turning up the volume up on your hearing aid?”
“You’re older than I am,” grumbled Yoongi. “But you still don’t enunciate properly. What did you say? Something about a word.”
Seokjin looked down at his book and read the word aloud. “It made me think of Joon.”
“Yeah,” agreed Yoongi. “He is glamorous. He looks like one of those California beach lifeguards running down the shore in slow motion. I mean what with the chest and the thighs and the height and the skin…”
“Not glamorous, Yoongi. The word is glabrous.”
Yoongi frowned. “Never heard of it.”
“Then let me educate you. It means,” Seokjin tapped the tablet screen, “smooth, without hair or projections.”
“Ah,” Yoongi considered Namjoon’s pectorals. “That would work, too.”
