I'm glad he chose his family over duty. I would think his daughters would have a hard time forgiving if he'd taken their mother away from them.

He takes his duties very seriously, but he does love his family, and he can show great compassion. Just because society dictates it's fair to throw your cheating wife into prison, it doesn't mean it actually is, and thankfully, he can see past that.
