"We've survived," an elated Micky declared. "It's autumn! Goodbye to heat and misery! Hello to the halcyon days of cooler temperatures, when it gets dark earlier!"

Mike chuckled. "You sure are enthusiastic. Funny, though; you sure didn't seem to sing the blues when summer was still here."

"Summer." Micky made a face. "Blech! It's hot and disgusting and stifling."

"And you swam and played with the neighbor kids 'till they started school. This wouldn't maybe have somethin' to do with Halloween comin' up next month, now, would it?"

For a silent moment, Micky stared at Mike.

"A...bit," he confessed.
