Summary: The Champions have little apple-picking competition on their free day.
“What’s that saying, don’t judge a zora by their ability to climb a tree?” Revali laughed.
“Hey, you’re the only one with wings here.” Urbosa really wanted to knock that smug bird out of his perch, but he was so high up on that massive tree she had little hopes of reaching.
The Champions had a rare day of rest, and Mipha had suggested they pick apples from the orchard to make something everyone could enjoy. So, of course, it had turned into a competition.
Revali was first place, being the only one who could fly to the tops of the trees and hard-to-reach places, followed by Daruk, who just shook the trees and collected what fell, with Mipha and Urbosa in third place. Since Mipha wasn’t great at climbing, Urbosa teamed up with her to make it a fair fight.
“Why don’t you join, Princess?” Urbosa turned towards Zelda, who sat in the shade, her silent knight ever by her side.
“I couldn’t even compete.” She declined.
“Teamwork is fine, too. Link would probably give that rito a run for his money.” Urbosa insisted.
“Link? Ha!” Revali swooped down with another sack full of apples, “His sword isn’t going to help him here!”
“You’re just scared of real competition.” She goaded.
“As if!” He turned to look at Link, “Bring it on!”
Link perked up at the challenge, excited, but still turned to the Princess, waiting for her approval.
“…As you wish.” Zelda sighed, clearly unimpressed, but not enough to stop them.
And so Link joined amidst cheers from the others.
Unfortunately, flight was really the unilateral determining factor this time, though Link did manage to snatch second place. Altogether, they gathered enough apples that the royal kitchens were stuck serving nothing but apple confectioneries for almost a month.
