Title: Steel Trap
Fandom: Leverage
Author: Cat Moon
Rating: G
Characters/Pairing: Team. Nate/Sophie implied
Words: 200
Summary: Nate’s mine was like a steel trap, and Sophie was caught
Warnings: Canon alcohol use
The world was like a giant chess game to Nate. He enjoyed staying three steps ahead of the mark, extrapolating their next move by studying the invisible board in his mind. The fact that he could do it while drunk was a mystery but undeniable.
Hardison was in awe of Nate's ability to pull off the impossible while downing Irish Whiskey like water, although he didn't always agree with the methods. He sought knowledge from the mastermind, wanting to run his own crew one day.
Eliot thought Nate was prone to recklessness when he was drinking, sometimes putting them in danger. Eliot's job was to protect, and he worried that one day he would fail to save them from the fallout.
Parker trusted Nate…to a point. She was used to surviving on her own though and always had a contingency plan, just in case.
Sophie found Nate's wounded brilliance alluring. She couldn't stay away, like a moth to a flame, even when she tried. Nate needed her, whether he admitted it or not.
Maybe out of all of them, Sophie was in the greatest danger, not of losing her life but of falling in love with a hopelessly broken man.
