Title: No Matter the Cost
Fandom: Torchwood
Author: Cat Moon
Rating: Teen
Words: 200
Characters/Ship: Ianto/Lisa
Summary: In the ruins of Canary Wharf, Ianto finds Lisa, unaware of the cost he'd have to pay later.
Notes: I haven't been able to write anything in a long time. So, I figured I'd go back to my old standby, my little black dress of drabbles. And the words came.
When Ianto finally found Lisa after hours of increasingly frantic searching through the ruins of the Tower, he lurched aside and threw up. His reaction to the horror and destruction around him had been visceral, but what faced him here was beyond any nightmare ever imagined. His beautiful Lisa lay there, half converted and moaning in pain, her body defiled by the monsters that Torchwood had unwittingly unleashed.
It was too much to bear... He felt the threads of his sanity snapping and shoved a fist into his mouth to stifle the screams that demanded release. If he let them out, he knew they would never stop. He bit into the flesh of his hand until he drew blood, letting the physical pain clear his mental anguish.
When Ianto was under control again, he set about getting Lisa out of the machine holding her captive, steeling his resolve. Giving up was not an option. He was not going to fail her. Ianto knew he wasn't brave, he was no hero, but he'd be damned before letting the love of his life perish like this. He'd find a way to help her, to reverse this abomination.
No matter what the cost.
