Title: summer days (drifting away)
Fandom: Young Royals (TV)
Author:
starvalisedham
Rating: G
Word Count: 200
Characters/Pairings: Rosh, Ayub, Simon Eriksson
Upbeat music sounded from a battered Bluetooth speaker, the tinny device working its tinny best to entertain three best friends on their last free weekend before their first year of high school.
"This playlist is..." Simon raised a hand as if he could pluck the word he was looking for from the empty space before him. He waved his hand--up and down and around and even side to side--but nothing came to mind except for: "...eclectic."
"Eclec--what?" Ayub kicked at Simon clumsily, threatening to pour the boy over and off the bed they were top-and-tailing, though luckily for him Rosh's place on the floor as she leaned against the side of the bed discouraged whatever fall he would have taken.
Simon frowned, not because of Ayub but because maybe he meant: "Electric?"
Rosh scoffed. "Pathetic."
She tossed a handful of popcorn over her shoulder. They landed in a spray all over Simon--one clipped him on the chin, in fact, before bouncing off his chest, rolling down his collarbone, and landing perfectly within the hollow at the base of his throat.
"You're pathetic," Simon grumbled as he shook popcorn off his front.
"Yeah, yeah," said Rosh, grinning. "What else is new."
